Chempolis and Guangxi Guangui Sugar LTD signed MoU for non-wood biorefineries

(May 21st, 2009, Guangxi, China)- A signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) between Chempolis and China Guangxi Guangui Sugar Co., Ltd. (“GS”) was held today in Nanning, Guangxi. This MoU aims to the co-operation between Chempolis and GS and license Chempolis state-of –the-art formico® -technologies to GS to build and operate non-wood based biorefineries.

The MoU was signed by Chempolis CTO Pasi Rousu and GS Chairman and General Manager Mr. Yang Herong. Guangxi is the biggest sugar production province in China and the third biggest sugar producer in the world, after Brazil and India. This is a great opportunity for us especially because Guangui is already pulp producer from sugarcane residual material, bagasse, says Pasi Rousu.

Consul General Hannu Toivola from Finnish Consulate General in Guangzhou and Country Manager Mr. Yang Fenghui from Finnish Environmental Cluster for China (“FECC”) were invited to witness this MoU signing ceremony. Mr. Yang Feihui commits that FECC will tightly follow up this co-operation and provide all necessary information and assistance for future achievements of the co-operation.
