Chempolis in brief |
Chempolis Ltd is a leading-edge company in the development and delivery of environmentally sustainable biorefining technologies and production solutions for industrial utilisation of non-wood and non-food feedstocks. These materials include straws, grasses, bagasse, energy crops, bast and leaf fibres, among many other biomass resources.
Our core technologies include formicofib™, formicobio™ and formicochem™ processes, which are designed for environmentally friendly production of pulp, biofuels and biochemicals from non-wood and non-food raw materials. We provide customer-oriented R&D, engineering and consulting services in plant projects ranging from raw material testing to plant operation, product development and their end use.
We are committed to supplying the best available process technologies to combat climate change. Because the formico® processes do not use wood as a raw material, our technology helps to preserve forests, the main carbon sink. Thanks to their self-sufficiency in terms of energy, they do not generate any net CO2 emissions, either.
Since its establishment in 1995, Chempolis has been strongly focused on developing proprietary production technologies. Chempolis has been granted more than 60 patents, and the key features of the technology have been recognised both domestically and internationally. Selected milestones in the Chempolis's history include the following:
